The Degree of clarity to which your character perceives the reality.
It's reduced by terrifying enemies, Unholy Damage, Head Injuries, negative Magic effects, high Pain level and intoxication.
If Sanity drops below 50%, the character may begin to suffer from negative mental effects (see Psyche).
Ways to increase Sanity
- This list may be incomplete, it is based on the data present in this wiki on 23 April 2021.
The following items can increase character's sanity:
- Beverages: Brandy (+2% per use)
- Food: Bilberry Pie (+0.10% × 60t per use), Lentil Soup (+3%)
- Herbs: Mindwort (+4%), Thyme (+1%)
- Medicine: Ether Inhaler (+5% per use)
- Other: praying at a Shrine (+5%)
Note that using some of these items may have reverse effect on Sanity in certain conditions due to their interaction with other attributes affecting Sanity, such as Intoxication.
Can be recovered by a good rest (recovery is based on hours spent sleeping).
