Ammunition
Ammunition are off-hand items that are fired when using Bows, Crossbows or Slings. Picked up ammunition stacks together in your inventory up to 20 pieces per stack. To save space, you can place ammunition inside Quivers and Ammo Pouches. Equipping a stack of ammunition into your weapon slot takes a turn.
There are three ammunition types:
- Arrows — fired from Bows. A stack occupies 1×3 inventory slots. A stack has maximum 20 arrows.
- Bolts — fired from Crossbows. A stack occupies 1×2 inventory slots. A stack has maximum 20 bolts.
- Projectiles — fired from Slings. A stack occupies 1×1 inventory slots for 3 ammos, and 1x2 slots for 4-10 ammos. A stack has maximum 10 projectiles.
Arrows and Bolts both come in three different variants, each with its own benefits and fallbacks:
- Leaf-shaped — the default ammunition type. They don’t have any special modifiers, offering standard damage and range values.
- Broadhead — historically used mostly for hunting. They are heavier and wider, making them more damaging to both enemy health and their body parts. As a trade-off, they struggle with piercing armor. Their accuracy and range are also lower.
- Bodkin — fairly light, so they have higher range. They are also good at penetrating armor and provide better accuracy, but are less effective against unarmored flesh than other arrow types.
The Projectiles also have three variants:
- Stone — the default ammunition type. They literally lie underfoot, and are especially common in Fields and Caves.
- Lead Shot — strong metal balls. Their specialty is keeping the enemy at a comfortable distance and debuff by staggering or stunning.
- Sling Bullet — missiles focused on causing more effective damage to enemies.

Notes
For Slings, there are certain items that can be slinged than just thrown normally which will get the raange of the sling and also Ranged Weapons skill tree such as Take Aim.
- Bottled items (Alcohol, Beverages, Bottled Drugs, Bottle of Oil, Deathstinger Jar, Nistrian Flame Flask, Spider Blood Flask, Potions, Elven Mud, bottle/flask filled with water). Except Jug of Milk, Dark Ale, Waterskin.
- Certain Medicine (Antitoxin, Healing Salve, Ether Inhaler, Gwynnel's Elixir, Vivifying Essence, Ranger Brew).
- Small critters carcass (Hedgehog, Squirrel, any Birds, Rat, Bat, Gray Crab).
- Certain Food items (Egg, Chicken Egg, Harpy Egg, Cheese/Goat Cheese, Butter, Flatbread, Custard Muffin, Moose Kidney, Mussel).
- Normal-sized meat in all states (raw, cooked, salted, rotten) such as Tender Meat, Sinewy Meat, Drumstick, White Fish, Red Fish, Crab Meat.
- All Fruits. Except Dried Fig.
- All Vegetables. Except Lentils, Leek, Seaweed, White Radish.
- Certain tools (Caltrops, Smoke Bomb).
- Pale Puffball.
- All gems such as Handful Of Amber, Gold Nugget, Ruby. Except Gold Bits.
- Certain Valuables (Iron Ingot, Small Casket, Altar Bell, Carved Figurine, Silver Clasp, Ornate Agraffe, Silver Talisman, Ornate Inkpot, Silver Cup, Hourglass).
- Certain Materials (Coal Chunk, Flask, Bottle of Oil) .
- Junks (Jug, Mug, Pot, Jar).
