Foods are items that lower your Hunger and/or Thirst.

Additionally, some food items apply beneficial effects to your character.

For example, eating a Raspberry will give your character a {{c|+|+0.02%}} to Morale Change for 30 turns.

Eating food that would reduce Hunger by a larger value than the character's current hunger sets it to 0% and applies the Satiety condition.

Most foods will rot or spoil after a certain time. When this occurs, the item will:

  • Lose its beneficial effects
  • Reduce the hunger change
  • Cause Mood loss
  • Gain the chance to cause Vomiting

Some foods can be Cooked, which increases their benefits. This can be done at a Campfire or a Stove inside of Brigand-controlled Dungeons.

Procuring food

Different foods can be bought in towns from merchants and townspeople.

If you don't want to buy food, you can find various food types in Brigand-controlled Dungeons or hunt animals for raw meat.

Planning ahead

Stock up on different amounts of food based on where you plan to go. Nearby locations won't take much food, while longer trips will. Consider the availability of food. In a Brigand-controlled Dungeon, you can find food there, so you don't need to bring as much.

Eat smart

Eat foods in the order of expiry. If you don't want to deal with the expiration mechanic, buy foods like Smoked Ham that are unable to expire.
