Pretty much everyone has heard tales about the Steel Company and its heroic exploits. Even though it had only existed for a mere ten years, it still managed to participate in more campaigns, battles, and ventures than any other mercenary band of Aldor.
{{:Book data|{{ROOTPAGENAME}} Content}}

It was the Steel Company which introduced the fashion for fighting with greatswords among the mercenaries, as most of its troops usually fought on the front lines, thriving in the midst of battle. Those who had a misfortune of meeting the Steel Company on the battlefield prayed to avoid another confrontation.

( . . . )

When the orcs reached the mercenaries, the battle appeared to be over. It looked like the growling, roaring wave of enraged savages ran the mercs down, consuming each and every soldier. A cacophony of colliding steel and dying screams - it was impossible to make out the details in the dense morning fog...

Every fighter of the Steel Company was worth ten men. Skillfully parrying vicious strikes, they retaliated with daring lunges of their own, slaying multiple foes with each cleave. When the fog had finally dissipated, the amazed villagers saw the resulting aftermath of that unprecedented battle. Unsteady with fatigue and leaning on their swords, the five remaining soldiers stood amid the mountains of sliced up orcish corpses...

And with the name of a fair lady on his lips
Sir Darroth dons his helmet, draws a sword,
And challenges Ilaouk to combat.
His eyes burn with steely passion,
And fear has no command over the paladin.

The chieftain speaks:
"You come to your death.
There will be no mercy for your people:
No one will escape the massacre.
And every fallen warrior will be avenged a hundredfold.
Once again the Old Forest will rise
In place of your cities. Once again
The ancient sacred oaks will bud leaves
As it was many, many years ago".

With nothing else to say, he gives a signal.
His sons grab their weapons and charge the hero,
Striking him with vicious might,
That can bring down anyone
To their knees. Anyone but Darroth.

He regains his balance,
Raises the blade and
With a single arcing strike
He lops off five orcish heads...
