I'm obviously aware of the existence of dwarven berserkers, elven dervishes, and the Bronze Isles' duelists who prefer fighting with two blades instead of one - I even had the pleasure of meeting one of the latter personally. Alas, my memory isn't what it used to be, so I can't recall the name of that noble warrior. An old friend of my late tutor, he left the Bronze Isles just before they cut all ties with the outside world.
After losing his homeland, he decided to make a living by teaching swordsmanship to youngsters - I was lucky to take a couple lessons from him back in the day. He preferred to teach a bunch of students at the same time, sparring with five or six opponents simultaneously. It goes without saying, he never failed to give us a thrashing - it felt as if his blades had a mind of their own, striking in every direction at once.
But what did it cost him? Years upon years of grueling practice, starting from early childhood and throughout his entire life, day after day... For this very reason I don't take dual wielding seriously. Even to an experienced fencer a buckler is a hundredfold more useful than a second blade. Unless you actually know what you're doing, dual wielding will only result in your quick demise...
