Shipwreck on the Global Map

The Shipwreck is a secret unique POI that is always present on the Global Map. Its location is fixed in the sea south of Denbrie. For obvious reasons, it is absent from pre-war paper maps.

Description

Only the waves pound the side of the echoing hold…
The remains of a ship, cast ashore by the powerful waves of the Southern Sea. Doesn't look like there's anyone left to share the tale of its demise….

The Shipwreck is a lone ship with a gaping side, without the markings of any of the Aldor Factions, on a small island.

Properties

  • Currently, the Shipwreck is the only POI located at sea in the game.

Loot

  • The ship's hold is guaranteed to contain one random Commodity and several Valuables.
  • On the sand near the ship lies a Horse Banner and some Rags.
  • One Heater Shield fell off the stern of the ship and can be found in shallow water.
  • You can rummage through the remains of the crew and find some Loot.

Guide

In order to get to the Shipwreck, or explore the rest of the sea for that matter, the mercenary must first find a way to swim for prolonged periods of time. To do that, they need to replenish their Energy faster than they lose it while swimming in the water.

Some great ways to help the player achieve that include but are not limited to:

  • Eating Azurecap
  • Drinking Elven Mud
  • Using Al'qud
  • Eating Dishes that increase Energy Restoration or Maximum Energy, such as Meat Omelette, Pot Roast, Herb-Roasted Fish and especially the Maen-Style Honeyed Azurecap. Keep in mind Dishes of the same type do not stack with each other, while multiple different Dishes do. All of the active buffs the mercenary got from Food will be cleared if they Vomit.
  • Having the Inner Reserves passive learnt
  • Repeatedly drinking from the Cleansing Chalice. This method can singlehandedly allow the Energy Replenishment to exceed the Energy lost per each turn spent in water given the mercenary is drinking from the Chalice frequently enough, but it is significantly more time-consuming to traverse the seas with than having the Energy be restored passively.

Most of the above would not suffice to cover the swimming costs on their own, so it is recommended to stick to a mix of options that are the most available to the mercenary.

Besides simply increasing the speed at which the mercenary restores their Energy, reducing the swimming costs is also an easily accessible option. All of the items equipped on the character, with the exception of Jewelry, Cloaks and Belts, increase the mercenary's swimming costs. Any limb Injuries increase the swimming costs as well. Unequipping the character's gear and treating all of their Injuries alone likely won't be enough to get them to hit the desired Energy Replenishment benchmark, but it will help to achieve it with less effort.
