Tactics
Good luck. You will need it.
- The Manticore will cast Vengeance of the Dead even if you're adjacent to it, so try to use the opportunity to attack it while this skill is off cooldown.
- The Manticore will only cast Bone Pyres if you're adjacent to 2 skellies, so you can use this to your advantage by purposefully letting 2 skellies come near you and attack the Manticore while he uses that skill. You'll take some damage, but it might be better than taking a hit of Deadly Tail.
- The Manticore will only cast Primal Aether if you're not adjacent to it.
- The Manticore will only cast Animated Servant if there's less than 4 skellies in the room and you're not adjacent to the Manticore.
- Don't let the skellies expire on their own, as that will regen the Manticore for 4% of its Health, kill them or force the Manticore to use Bone Pyres.
- Try to not allow the Manticore the opportunity to hit you with Deadly Tail, even a fumbled or dodged hit can apply the secondary effects of the skill as long as it caused you 1 point of damage.
- If you're struggling to hit the Manticore often enough to keep it from naturally restoring its health, you can throw stuff at the manticore to reset the turn counter of the natural restoration. Anything works as long as it deals 1 point of damage.
Possible Loot
This creature drops no loot.
Interesting Facts
- It is unknown whether Manticores existed in the wild or are all spawns of Axonian magic.
- The Bone Cradle is specifically designed to turn people into Manticores, but does not give them magical abilities. This feature is unique to Venemist, which makes his transformation stand out from others.
