* Bring either a Smoke Bomb or have the Dash skill unlocked to avoid the first .
* Try to stay between 0~1 tiles apart from the Troll, to avoid further rock throws.
* The Troll will never if you're adjacent to it.
* After reaching 75% Health or below, the Troll will always use his when it's off cooldown, unless you're adjacent to it.
* Use a melee strike to interrupt its regeneration.
* After interrupting its regeneration, the Troll will be vulnerable to damage for some time, receiving about 2 times the amount of damage it usually takes.

Alternative tactic require minimum level 8 mage (preferably level 9-10) and is quite a bit easier:
# Get Mana Crystal spell(Arcanist) and Seal of Power spell(Magic Mastery), start the fight by placing mana crystal then swap your character and it with Dimensional Shift to avoid the first
# Stay at least 2-3 tiles away from Troll and use either Jolt or Fire Barrage to deal damage ( note that you have to bring a few Bottles of Oil to the fight if you use the latter, throw them before using the skill)
# After reaching 75% Health or below, the Troll will always use his when it's off cooldown, unless you're adjacent to it.
# Use a melee strike to interrupt its regeneration.
# Use Dimensional shift on Mana Crystall to get away(most likely wont be needing it because most Shockwaves are trivially easy to evade)
N.B. If you have a dash skill with this set up - the fight becomes incredibly easy because the only true damage Troll has is its , all other abilities are easy to evade or deal no damage.

Possible Loot
After Butchering the Ancient Troll, there is a possible drop of:
* 1x Troll Pelt
* 1x Troll Tusks.

Interesting Facts
* One can only guess about the true age of the Ancient Troll, but he is clearly more than 30 years old - the pelt has already acquired remarkable regenerative properties.
* The nature of Aldor is amazing! A meeting with his younger brother is often even more dangerous than a boss fight with the Ancient Troll himself.
